The agreement and its scope
These terms govern Cercle membership offered by Poncelin de Raucourt Fine Arts, a French EURL with share capital of €1,000, Paris Trade and Companies Register 939 632 618, 229 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France. Contact: info@la-selection.art; +33 6 84 43 91 81. Subscribers must have capacity to contract. Rights specifically reserved for consumers apply to subscribers acting in that capacity.
EU VAT number: FR72939632618.
Le Cercle provides access to private editorial recommendations, including in the entry and middle market, the archive offered in the member area and available personal features such as favourites. Works whose sale date has passed remain available as dated references; their presence does not mean they are still for sale.
The service offers new selections every week and throughout the week, according to discoveries and the auction calendar. It does not promise a fixed number of lots, an exclusive opportunity to purchase or an artwork’s availability. The free Sunday newsletter remains a separate service. Membership includes no artwork, representation at an auction, individual appraisal or personalised advisory service.
Access and subscribing
You need internet access, a recent browser and an email address that can receive a sign-in code. Access is personal; sign-in codes and restricted content must not be shared or redistributed. Selected works remain available to subscribers after the auction in the Cercle archive.
Before paying, you can review these terms, the price and the offer’s features. Membership takes effect after acceptance of the terms and confirmation of payment by Stripe. Access may require the technical time needed to receive that confirmation. Returning to a success page is not, on its own, proof of payment.
Confirmation of the agreement, the applicable terms and withdrawal information must be provided to you on a durable medium. You can retain or print these terms. Payment confirmations and invoices are separate from that contractual information.
Price and monthly or annual billing
The first 100 subscriptions receive the founder rate: €39 per month or €390 per year, depending on the chosen plan. The 100-place limit is shared between monthly and annual plans. Later subscribers pay €49 per month or €490 per year. All prices include applicable tax and both plans provide the same content. The founder rate for the chosen plan is retained while that subscription remains active. A new subscription after cancellation is offered at the rate then available; founder places are not reallocated. The amount is shown before payment and charged in euros. There is no joining fee. Any currency-conversion or banking fees charged by your bank are separate.
Applicable VAT is determined at checkout using your billing address and, where relevant, your business status and VAT number. Your Stripe invoice, available from your member account, shows the amounts excluding tax, the VAT and the total.
You choose monthly or annual billing. The first payment is due when subscribing, then membership renews automatically for the same period until cancelled. Annual membership is charged in one payment for a full year: €390 including tax for founders or €490 including tax at the standard rate. This saves two monthly payments compared with twelve monthly payments at the corresponding rate. Your next billing date is displayed in your management area. Stripe manages payment. If payment fails, access may be suspended until the issue is resolved, according to the status confirmed by the provider.
The accepted price applies to the paid period. The monthly or annual founder rate is retained while the subscription remains active. Any change to the standard rate for future periods must be communicated in advance on a durable medium, with an opportunity to cancel before it takes effect. No price change applies retrospectively.
Cancelling membership
You may cancel at any time from “My account”, by opening subscription management and the cancellation function in the Stripe portal. Cancellation stops renewal and takes effect at the end of the paid month or year, depending on your plan. Access continues until that date and no further renewal is due after cancellation takes effect.
Confirmation identifies receipt of your request, its effective date and its consequences. If you cannot access your account or the cancellation function, write to info@la-selection.art and provide the email associated with your membership. You do not need to give a reason to stop future billing.
Ordinary cancellation does not produce a pro-rata refund of the period already paid for. This does not limit the initial right of withdrawal or refunds due under statutory guarantees, for an undue payment or under another mandatory right.
The 14-day withdrawal period
If you subscribe as a consumer, you have fourteen days from the initial conclusion of the agreement to withdraw without giving a reason or paying a penalty. The day the agreement is concluded is not counted. If the last day is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the period is extended to the next working day.
La Sélection preserves this right even if you have started viewing the content. No waiver of withdrawal is requested. A valid request within this period ends the subscription and results in a full refund of the first payment, without a deduction for access already used.
You may use the ‘Withdraw from the contract here’ function, send the form below by email to info@la-selection.art or to the registered office, or send any unambiguous statement expressing your decision. Sending the request before the deadline is sufficient. Keep the acknowledgement or evidence of sending it.
The refund is made without undue delay and no later than fourteen days after receipt of your decision, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree to another method at no cost. A receipt for the withdrawal request does not confirm that the bank refund has already been executed. Restricted access ends when withdrawal takes effect.

The scope of our recommendations
Comments are dated editorial assessments. Terms such as ‘desirable’, ‘undervalued’ or ‘opportunity’ express a judgment without any assurance of financial results. They do not constitute authentication, a condition guarantee, an appraisal certificate or a commitment concerning an artwork’s future value.
Readers remain free to make their own decisions. Purchases are made with sellers or auction houses under their own terms, fees and verification procedures. La Sélection remains responsible for its contractual and statutory obligations; these explanations exclude no guarantee or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.
Service operation and support
The service is provided throughout your paid membership. Maintenance and technical incidents may affect access; La Sélection seeks to minimise their duration and restore the service. If you experience an access or conformity problem, write to info@la-selection.art with the details needed to understand it.
Updates necessary to maintain conformity are provided during membership. Changes to the service cannot reduce your mandatory rights; changes that adversely affect access are subject to the information and remedy requirements prescribed by law.
Statutory guarantees
Consumers are entitled to the statutory guarantee of conformity if a lack of conformity appears throughout the period during which their Cercle subscription is supplied, starting with supply of the digital content or digital service. During that period, consumers need establish only the existence of the lack of conformity, not the date on which it arose.
The statutory guarantee of conformity requires all updates needed to maintain the conformity of the digital content or digital service to be supplied throughout the subscription’s supply period.
The statutory guarantee entitles consumers to have the digital content or digital service brought into conformity without undue delay after their request, free of charge and without significant inconvenience.
Consumers may obtain a price reduction while retaining the digital content or digital service, or terminate the agreement for a full refund in exchange for giving up that content or service, if: (1) the trader refuses to bring it into conformity; (2) conformity is unjustifiably delayed; (3) conformity cannot be achieved without imposing costs on the consumer; (4) achieving conformity causes significant inconvenience; or (5) the lack of conformity persists despite the trader’s unsuccessful attempt to remedy it.
Consumers are also entitled to a price reduction or termination where the lack of conformity is so serious as to justify an immediate reduction or termination. They need not first request that the digital content or digital service be brought into conformity.
Where the lack of conformity is minor, consumers are entitled to cancel the agreement only if the agreement does not provide for payment of a price.
Any period during which the digital content or digital service is unavailable while being brought into conformity suspends the remaining guarantee period until conforming content or service is supplied again.
These rights arise under Articles L. 224-25-1 to L. 224-25-31 of the French Consumer Code.
A trader who in bad faith obstructs the statutory guarantee of conformity may incur a civil fine of up to €300,000, which may be increased to 10% of average annual turnover (Article L. 242-18-1 of the French Consumer Code).
Consumers also benefit from the statutory guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code for two years from discovery of the defect. This guarantee entitles them to a price reduction if they retain the digital content or service, or to a full refund in exchange for giving it up.
Notice adapted to continuous subscription supply under the annex to Article D. 211-4 of the French Consumer Code. The English and Simplified Chinese translations are provided to help readers understand these French statutory guarantees.
Complaints and mediation
First send a written complaint to info@la-selection.art or to Poncelin de Raucourt Fine Arts, 229 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, identifying your subscription and the problem. We will seek an amicable solution.
If that written complaint does not resolve the dispute, consumers may use CM2C — Centre de la médiation de la consommation de conciliateurs de justice, the consumer-mediation body to which Poncelin de Raucourt Fine Arts is affiliated, free of charge. Address: 49 rue de Ponthieu, 75008 Paris, France. The request must be made within one year of your written complaint to the business and remains subject to the statutory eligibility conditions.
You may submit your case to CM2C online at www.cm2c.net, by post to that address or by email to declarer-un-litige@cm2c.net. Keep evidence of your written complaint and provide the company’s SIRET number: 93963261800012.
Applicable law and version
The agreement is governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections applicable in their country of habitual residence. Statutory jurisdiction rules continue to apply; consumers are not required to submit exclusively to a Paris court.
The French, English and Simplified Chinese versions aim to state the same commitments. Mandatory consumer protections prevail in the event of an interpretation issue. The applicable terms are those provided and accepted when subscribing; later changes must respect existing subscribers’ rights.
