This Sunday, we are delighted to reveal a new discovery: a rare and powerful drawing by Federico Zuccaro (c.1540–1609), one of the leading figures of late sixteenth-century Italian draftsmanship. Closely connected to one of his major Roman fresco commissions, the sheet beautifully illustrates the artist’s expressive handling of chalk and his ambitious decorative vision. As we enjoy the Month of Drawing in Paris, this new addition feels particularly timely. The work is available for viewing in Paris by appointment should you wish to examine it more closely.
