This week, we are pleased to present a refined portrait drawing by Pauline Auzou, a sensitive and elegant study of a young woman, characteristic of the artist’s work and of the finest French draughtsmanship around 1800, at a moment when women artists were beginning to assert a more visible and independent role within the artistic sphere.
